Equal & Reducing Pipe Tees

Equal and reducing tees form branch connections. Specify run and branch sizes, with the wall thickness at each end.

PRODUCT DETAILS

Specify the connection completely.

We can also make custom sizes, wall thicknesses and other dimensions to your drawing. Send the pipe-end requirements and your drawing with your RFQ so we can confirm the details.

ParameterDetails to confirm
TypeEqual tee or reducing tee
RunMain run outside diameter, wall thickness or Schedule, and end preparation
BranchBranch outside diameter, wall thickness or Schedule, and end preparation
ReferenceApplicable fitting standard and material specification

Product dimensions, material grades and documentation are confirmed against your enquiry and applicable project requirements.

Primary dimensional reference: ASME B16.9 (overall scope NPS 1/2–48; check the tee table). Confirm the product type, edition and applicable size before order.

SELECTION & ENQUIRY

The details that make the difference.

01

Define the run

Specify the run outside diameter and wall thickness or Schedule; identify any differences between the two run ends.

02

Define the branch

Specify the branch outside diameter, wall thickness or Schedule, and end preparation separately from the run.

03

Confirm material and documents

List equal or reducing tee, material grade, standard and edition, item quantity, and inspection requirements.

Product overview

Build a branch connection into the pipe run.

Pipe tees create a branch from a butt-welded pipe line. An equal tee uses the same nominal size for the run and branch; a reducing tee uses a different branch size to match the piping requirement.

Before quotation, provide the run and branch sizes, schedule or wall thickness, material, standard, quantity, destination and any drawings or documentation requirements.

COMMON QUESTIONS

Before you send the enquiry.

How do I describe a reducing tee?

List the run and branch sizes clearly, together with the corresponding wall thickness requirements. Attach a drawing when dimensions or ends differ from the standard arrangement.

How should tees be listed in a mixed material enquiry?

Use a separate line for each tee type, size and material combination. Include an item reference, end sizes, wall requirements and quantity so that similar-looking components remain identifiable.

Which dimensions matter for installation?

Confirm the run and branch centre-to-end dimensions and the end connections against the piping drawing. These determine how the tee fits into the assembly.

Can the branch and run have different wall requirements?

State the required wall or schedule at each end and provide the applicable specification. Any differing requirements need review against the proposed product.

What should a tee RFQ contain?

Include run and branch sizes, material, wall requirements, connection type, quantity and the governing specification. Add drawings and inspection requirements where applicable.
