Is this a flange blind?
No. A butt weld cap closes a pipe through a welded connection. For a bolted flange closure, review blind flanges.
Which measurements should I provide for a butt weld cap?
Provide the pipe outside diameter, wall thickness or schedule, material and required cap dimensions from the project specification.
Does a cap photograph establish its wall thickness?
No. Wall thickness and material must be confirmed from the specification and inspection documents. The image is for product identification.
Is a butt weld cap interchangeable with a threaded cap?
They use different connections and should not be substituted without design approval. State the required pipe-end connection on the RFQ.
What should I confirm for a special-depth cap?
Send the required depth, end dimensions, material and a controlled drawing. Specify dimensional tolerances and inspection requirements for review.
